This NSA briefing dated 22 March 2013 previews a forthcoming visit of the director of New Zealand’s Intelligence Coordination group to Fort Meade. The purpose of the visit was “to provide an update on legislation being proposed for the New Zealand Intelligence Community” which, the NSA document notes, “will include a strong oversight element”. The resignation of the GCSB’s deputy director as a consequence of the “Kim Dotcom incident” is also slated for discussion: see the Intercept article New Zealand Launched Mass Surveillance Project While Publicly Denying It, 15 September 2014.
